Huth Named Outstanding Fundraising Executive by AFP

do good's President & CEO, Laura Huth, was named the 2009 Outstanding Fundraising Executive by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) in East Central Illinois in a ceremony held November 13.

In October, do good Consulting was honored to be named the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce's 2009 Small Business of the Year. Given the number of other deserving small businesses in the area, and the fact that we were nominated by one of our clients, we are truly humbled by the selection. do good is proud to represent the quality of Champaign County businesses to the communities in which we work across the state.

On Monday, July 27, do good Consulting was invited by the “aha moment” team, a project supported by Mutual of Omaha. This aha moment project is sharing with the world the true, inspirational stories of real people who have acted on their 'aha moments' and have changed their lives...and the lives of people around them.

The aha crew is on a journey cross country to record these 'aha moments' and after the crew found the do good website in their research, invited do good President & CEO Laura Huth to share her 'aha moment' along with the 'aha moment' of do good trainer, Elizabeth Simpson. On April 19, 2009, the Champaign-based News-Gazette wrote an editorial urging the Champaign City Council not to reinstitute the social service grants they formally distributed to local social services agencies. do good's President & CEO, Laura Huth, took issue with the editorial and submitted a guest commentary on outlining the many ways that non-profit organizations contribute to local and state economies.
