Engaging Youth for Positive Change
Center for Prevention Research and Development (CPRD)
Institute of Government and Public Affairs
University of Illinois
Engaging Youth for Positive Change (EYPC) is a transformative process empowering young people to work with local governing bodies to adopt policies that create healthier communities.
Trained facilitators guide youth to identify the change they desire, learn about the workings of local governing bodies, engage friends, neighbors, and business leaders in their efforts, and communicate with elected officials to create change.
EYPC’s results are impressive. Since 2005, EYPC youth-led groups have created smoke-free public places, facilitated safer parties and gatherings, restricted alcohol use at community events, and much more. The EYPC program is offered through the Center for Prevention Research and Development (CPRD), Institute of Government and Public Affairs at the University of Illinois.

Gigabit.coop
Gigabit.coop is an internet service provider built on the utility cooperative model, bringing the fastest, most affordable internet to central Illinois.
As a cooperatively-owned and operated business, Gigabit.coop is pooling community resources to build and operate a broadband network in our region’s own best interest, keeping our local dollars local and multiplying those dollars to build stronger families, a stronger community, and a strong local economy.
Gigabit.coop’s model keeps revenues and jobs in the local community – close to $200 million dollars will be injected into the local economy over the next 20 years as a result of our project where other business models are corporate-focused. These other models lead to higher prices, less community control, less responsive service, and a lot of unnecessary frustration. Plus, construction and operations jobs are lost when contracts go to large out-of-town firms. That doesn’t help you or your community.
Gigabit.coop means a strong local economy fueled by good, local jobs and new economic development potential. It means being customer-focused – and transparent. And it means the lowest prices and the fastest speeds.
do good Consulting is working with Gigabit.coop to develop its business model and plan, develop marketing materials like the logo (above), flyers, PowerPoints, and a website, and promote the business to stakeholders and residents throughout the service region.

The Midwest Athletic Complex & Institute will provide sports training, competition, and sports/health-oriented activities, programs, and entertainment features within a variety of state-of-the-art outdoor and indoor equipment, fields, courts, and facilities. It will also serve as a significant economic driver for east central Illinois, generating an array of new jobs, new construction, and new tax revenue to fuel our local economies.
The overall Midwest Athletic Complex & Institute project is planned as a sustainable development that will include commercial, public, and non-profit elements designed to operate synergistically within one environment as a point-of-destination for the region.
